Risk & compliance
Material issues identified before execution.
Review areas
Eight areas assessed before a transaction proceeds.
- 01
Counterparty assessment
Who we are contracting with, and whether the relationship can proceed.
- 02
Product specification
Whether the product can meet the agreed contractual specification.
- 03
Origin and destination review
Where the product comes from, where it is going, and what that implies.
- 04
Sanctions and trade restrictions
Applicable restrictions are reviewed before a transaction proceeds.
- 05
Contractual obligations
What each party is committed to, and the consequences of non-performance.
- 06
Payment and inspection terms
How value and verification are structured across the movement.
- 07
Transportation and customs risk
Exposure created by the movement itself and by the borders it crosses.
- 08
Applicable laws and regulations
The legal and regulatory framework governing the transaction.
Our position
What we will not do.
Barrelsway does not support unlawful trade, misrepresentation of origin, falsification of documentation, sanctions evasion or attempts to bypass applicable regulations.
Where a proposed transaction cannot be reconciled with applicable restrictions, regulation or our own review, we decline it. That decision is not negotiable, and it applies regardless of the commercial value of the trade.
Counterparty review
Every relationship is subject to commercial and compliance review.
An enquiry is the beginning of a review, not the conclusion of one. Counterparty acceptance, product availability and applicable requirements are all confirmed before a transaction is agreed, and any of them can end it.

Bring the transaction to us early.
The sooner a requirement is on the desk, the sooner we can tell you whether it is executable. We would rather decline at enquiry than discover a problem mid-movement.
