Barrelsway

One region. Many market realities.

Regional by design.

We adapt each transaction to local infrastructure, regulation, product balance, border conditions and demand. A structure that works in one market rarely transfers unchanged to the next.
Inland execution

Market groups

Where we trade.

Four connected market groups, joined by rail and by the corridors that run between them.
01

Central Asia

The core of the business. Inland demand, seasonal consumption and rail-dependent supply across five connected markets, each with its own product standards, border procedures and infrastructure.

  • Uzbekistan
  • Kazakhstan
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Tajikistan
  • Turkmenistan
02

CIS

Producing regions, inland demand centres and northern corridors. Origin capability and rail connectivity make this both a source of product and a market in its own right.

03

Mongolia

Long-distance rail movement through the Gobi. Distance, equipment availability and border procedure dominate the structure of any transaction into this market.

04

China

Western inland corridors and the trade opportunities connected to them, assessed against border capability, product standards and regulatory conditions.

Connected corridors

An inland trading region, joined by rail.

Central Asia has no seaborne outlet of its own. Product reaches its market by rail and by road, across borders and through terminals, which makes corridor capability the decisive commercial variable rather than a downstream detail.

We assess each opportunity against the corridor that would actually carry it — not against a notional route.

Regional market understanding

An apparent opportunity must survive regional reality.

Every transaction is assessed against these ten conditions before a structure is proposed. They are the difference between a market view and an executable trade.

  8. 08

    Payment and currency considerations

How value moves, and in what form.

  9. 09

    Counterparty structure

Who contracts, and who carries which obligation.

  10. 10

    Regulatory and compliance conditions

What applies, and what is permitted.
