How we handle information you send us.

Last updated

This page explains what happens to information submitted through barrelsway.com. It describes the site as it is actually built, rather than covering every situation in the abstract.

What we collect

The only information this website collects is what you enter into the trading enquiry form and choose to send: your name, company, corporate email address, telephone number, country, and the commercial details of your requirement — product, grade, quantity, origin, destination, delivery basis, timing, and any notes or attachments you add.

Only the product, enquiry type, company name, your name and your email address are required. Please send only what is necessary for us to assess your enquiry.

Why we hold it

Enquiry information is used to assess and respond to your requirement, and to carry out the counterparty and compliance review described on our risk and compliance page. It is not used for marketing lists, and it is not sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Where it goes

A submitted enquiry is delivered by email to the Barrelsway trading desk. This website does not store enquiries in a database of its own — there is no website database holding your requirement. Once delivered, the enquiry lives in our corporate email system.

Delivery is carried out by an email provider acting on our instructions. Where an enquiry needs input from a party involved in a potential transaction — an inspector, a transport provider, a supplier — information is shared only to the extent required to assess or execute that transaction.

Attachments

You may attach a small number of files — typically an RFQ, a specification, a certificate of analysis or a technical requirement. Attachments travel with the enquiry email to the trading desk and nowhere else. They are never sent to analytics or advertising services.

Analytics and tracking

This website sets no advertising cookies and embeds no third-party tracking scripts. If website analytics are enabled in future, they will be limited to non-identifying page and interaction counts. The contents of a trading enquiry — specifications, volumes, routes, message text and attachments — are excluded from analytics by design and are never transmitted to an analytics provider.

Technical data

Our hosting infrastructure processes ordinary technical request data, such as IP address and browser user agent, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. The enquiry endpoint applies rate limiting using a short-lived, in-memory record of recent request origins, used only to limit automated submissions.

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting relationship, and thereafter for the period required by applicable record-keeping, tax and compliance obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, write to us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and some information may need to be retained where a legal or compliance obligation requires it.

Changes
